What gives you energy in your work?

I get a lot of energy from developing creative concepts and bringing them to life from start to finish. What I enjoy most is translating a client’s vision into a unique, tailor-made concept that truly comes to life. It’s important to me that guests can fully enjoy the experience without having to worry about a thing. Their satisfaction is what ultimately makes a project successful for me. I also thrive on the dynamic nature of the job, where you need to think on your feet, adapt quickly, and be prepared for the unexpected. That challenge makes every successful project even more rewarding.

What sparks your enthusiasm when collaborating with colleagues or clients?

Mutual respect and open communication are at the heart of every successful collaboration. I enjoy working as part of a team because there’s always something to learn from one another. I gain valuable knowledge and insights from experienced colleagues, while bringing my own creativity and eye for the latest trends to the table. I believe the best ideas come from combining different perspectives and areas of expertise. When working with clients, I take the time to understand their vision so I can translate it into a creative concept that reflects their goals and expectations.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

In my free time, I enjoy staying active and spending time with friends. I love a good party, but I’m just as happy relaxing on the sofa with a great TV series. I also enjoy cooking, especially making Italian pasta dishes from scratch. Travelling and organising are two of my biggest passions, which is one of the reasons I love my job. I get to combine both interests every day.

I get a real energy boost from creating unforgettable experiences that truly stay with people. Especially when I do this together with colleagues, partners, and clients, seeing how ideas come to life step by step.

What sparks your enthusiasm when collaborating with colleagues or clients?

In collaborations, I thrive on personal moments: catching up, sharing a laugh, and getting to know each other better. The best results often stem from trust, openness, and a great atmosphere.

Which project has stayed with you the most?

The Marques Annual Conference in The Hague is the project that has stayed with me the most. It was incredibly fun and educational to work together with the entire organization to make this project a success. Ultimately, our strength lay in how well we were attuned to one another.

What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time, I love discovering new places. I also try to visit a new restaurant at least once a month, usually in Amsterdam.

What drives you in your role at BARENTSZEN?

Creating memorable experiences that surprise and delight people while making sure everything behind the scenes runs seamlessly. I get a lot of satisfaction from managing projects where creativity, structure, and teamwork come together. No two days are ever the same, and that’s exactly what makes my job so enjoyable.

What gives you energy?

I thrive on variety, new challenges, and working with passionate people. I enjoy coming up with creative solutions, juggling different projects, and seeing all the pieces come together. And of course, nothing beats happy clients looking back on a successful event or an unforgettable trip.

What do you value most when working with colleagues and clients?

Open communication, mutual trust, and a shared commitment to achieving the best possible result. I believe it’s important that everyone feels heard, and I think the best projects happen when people complement each other’s strengths, can exchange ideas openly, and genuinely enjoy working together. With clients, I like to build long-term relationships based on personal connection, trust, and genuine involvement.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I love playing padel and regularly spend time on the golf course as well. We live by the water, so after a day’s work you’ll often find me swimming, paddleboarding, or taking the boat out for a cruise. We also have a dog, which means I spend plenty of time walking in the woods or along the beach. That’s how I love to spend my free time.

What energizes you in your work?

Developing customized concepts and perfectly translating my clients’ vision and ideas into the possibilities within a destination is what drives me in my work. I get energy from events that are executed to perfection, and even more so when I see my clients and their guests leave the destination with a big smile.

What sparks your enthusiasm when collaborating with colleagues or clients?

In collaborating with colleagues and clients, I find it important that everyone works from their own strengths. It is precisely when everyone’s expertise comes together that something special is created and everything falls seamlessly into place.

What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time, I discover the world through my kitchen and enjoy cooking dishes from other cultures. This way, I get to taste a little more of the world at home. And a fun fact: I live on a houseboat in the old city center of a beautiful Dutch city.

When collaborating with colleagues, I value everyone being engaged and working toward the same goal. It is precisely that collective effort that makes it possible to deliver successful projects.

What do you like to do in your free time?

Outside of work, I enjoy movies and series, cooking, and long dinners with friends. I also love traveling to natural landscapes and the mountains, where I can truly recharge.

What energizes you in your work?

In my work at BARENTSZEN, I get most of my energy from connecting people. I enjoy finding creative ways to bring people together so that new ideas emerge and collaboration truly comes to life.

What sparks your enthusiasm when collaborating with colleagues or clients?

In my collaboration with colleagues and clients, I am particularly driven by the personal touch. I believe it is important to have genuine attention for one another. From that foundation, you can empower each other and collectively take the results to a higher level.

What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time, I love being outdoors: in the park, the woods, on the beach, or at a cozy terrace. I also enjoy being in the kitchen, where I love experimenting with cuisines from all over the world. Sometimes it turns out surprisingly well… and sometimes, a little less so.

What gives you energy in your work?
I get energized by large, complex requests where everything is still open and the possibilities seem endless. Projects I can really sink my teeth into and where I can surprise clients with creative, unexpected proposals. It’s precisely that combination of problem-solving, organizing, and out-of-the-box thinking that gives me so much energy.

What sparks your enthusiasm when collaborating with colleagues or clients?
I love co-creation. Working together with colleagues, local partners, and clients to grow ideas from an initial wild thought into a unique and unforgettable experience. It’s often within that collaboration that the most beautiful plans emerge.

Which project has stayed with you the most?
Of the many special projects over the past 20 years, one moment truly stands out for me: an incentive trip to Jordan. In Wadi Rum, during the Golden Hour, a glossy black grand piano stood atop a sand dune, with a pianist playing while 150 guests, glass of Arak in hand, watched the sun slowly disappear behind the red dunes. Music, silence, nature, and wonder—a magical moment that no one will ever forget.

What do you like to do in your free time?
Traveling remains a great passion in my free time. From a spontaneous city trip with friends to backpacking through Asia with my family, I’m always up for it. But to be honest, I can be just as happy with a simple afternoon cycling toward the beach at Zandvoort. Getting some fresh air, a drink at a beach club, sun on your face… that feels like a mini-vacation too.

What energizes you in your work?

What I enjoy most about my work is actively thinking along with the client, exploring various possibilities, and selecting the most extraordinary locations and activities for the program.

What sparks your enthusiasm when collaborating with colleagues or clients?

When collaborating with colleagues, I thrive on brainstorming and exchanging ideas. With clients, I value a smooth partnership, with a focus on personal contact and regular visits.

Which project has stayed with you the most?

A project that has stayed with me is an anniversary celebration in Reims, where the group experienced the Champagne region at its best with unique activities and exceptional locations. It was wonderful to see that the trip left a lasting positive memory for the group.

What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time, I love to bake. I get my inspiration from cookbooks or recipes I come across on Instagram.

What drives you in your work? What gives you energy?

What drives me in my work at BARENTSZEN is that the world is our playground. It gives me great satisfaction to provide people with an unforgettable experience and thus contribute to their joy in life.

What sparks your enthusiasm when collaborating with colleagues or clients?

In collaborating with colleagues and clients, I am primarily fueled by the enthusiasm for discovering new cultures and sharing experiences. Developing ideas together and helping people realize a truly special experience gives me a lot of energy.

What do you like to do in your free time?

Traveling is my great passion, and I have personally visited more than 100 countries by now—something I am quite proud of. Besides that, I enjoy reading, watching films, and fitness. And of course, I love spending time with my wife, our three children, and our dogs.

What energizes you in your work?

My work inspires me because no two days are the same. There are always new challenges coming your way and new concepts we can introduce to our clients. Additionally, I find it important to think about sustainability and how we can continue to organize beautiful and responsible experiences in a changing world.

In collaborating with colleagues, partners, and clients, I get energy from working toward a common goal. When all the pieces of the puzzle fall into place and a project turns out exactly as intended, I am proud of the team and the collaboration that made it possible. It is precisely by working together and combining different areas of expertise that we can deliver strong and well-thought-out concepts.

Which project has stayed with you the most?

A project that has stayed with me is the organization of an international kick-off meeting in Rome. During the preparations, we encountered various challenges, including issues with the hotel and logistics, but we managed to solve them as a team. This allowed the client to focus entirely on the content and the participants.

What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time, I prefer to be outdoors and active. I enjoy taking bike rides through the dunes to the sea and I row weekly in a four or eight in the early morning. The rhythm of the boat, the water, and nature (and the social coffee with the crew afterward) make it extra special.

What energizes you in your work?

The fact that I get to organize a project from A to Z for our clients remains the main reason why I have been doing this work with so much pleasure for several years. In addition, you are always collaborating with different cultures and local suppliers to create the best possible program. The icing on the cake is, of course, the execution of the meeting, event, or trip on-site.

What sparks your enthusiasm when collaborating with colleagues or clients?

What makes working at BARENTSZEN extra special is the bond we build with both clients and colleagues. Because we share experiences together, a strong and personal relationship is formed.

Which project has stayed with you the most?

A project that has stayed with me is the ANVR congress in Oman. The destination was magical, and the locations where the congress days were organized, such as the Royal Opera House, were truly enchanting.

What don’t we know about you yet?

I speak four languages fluently, partly because I grew up in a château in the French countryside.

What energizes you in your work?

What drives me in my work is the moment when the client’s wishes come together in a program and finally come to life on location. I get a lot of energy from taking the entire process, from start to finish, off the client’s hands.

What sparks your enthusiasm when collaborating with colleagues or clients?

In collaboration with colleagues and clients, I am always looking for a connection. I love it when our work truly lightens the load and we can be of genuine added value to our client.

Which project has stayed with you the most?

A project that has stayed with me is my very first guided incentive trip with 85 people to Paris. It was quite an experience to navigate the entire program by metro with such a large group for three days. Keeping everyone together and not losing anyone was a challenge, but it was mission accomplished.

What do you like to do in your free time?

In my spare time, I enjoy being creative. I also love walking, preferably combined with discovering new bars and restaurants.

What drives you in your work? What gives you energy?
Collaborating with clients, partners, and colleagues. At BARENTSZEN, it’s all about a genuine connection between people. That is how we provide solutions to our clients’ challenges. That synergy gives me a lot of energy.

What sparks your enthusiasm when collaborating with colleagues or clients?
The enthusiasm that builds when working toward a goal together. That shared drive and the feeling of creating something beautiful as a team—that’s what truly inspires me.

Which ‘project’ has stayed with you the most? And why?
The project that has stayed with me most is undoubtedly “Conference in the Bush”: an international conference in the heart of the Tanzanian savannah, fully equipped with professional conference facilities. What made this project so special was the impact of the setting on the meeting’s purpose. By literally taking participants out of their daily environment, we created more focus, connection, and openness in the discussions. It was precisely that combination of core objectives and a unique overall experience that made it an unforgettable experience for us as organizers and for the participants alike.

What do you like to do in your free time? Or what is something we don’t know about you yet?
I love photography, especially portraits. That probably won’t come as a surprise after my previous answers; in the end, for me, it’s all about people and their stories.

What energizes you in your work?

I get energy from creating a meeting, event, or trip together with the client, where the collaboration and joint preparation are just as important as the final result. It is very satisfying when everything turns out exactly as we envisioned and all participants enjoy it to the fullest.

What sparks your enthusiasm when collaborating with colleagues or clients?

In collaborating with colleagues, I thrive on enthusiasm, proactive thinking, and professionalism. Giving our all together for the same goal: an unforgettable experience for the client.

Which project has stayed with you the most?

There are several projects that have stayed with me, to which various colleagues contributed. One of them was a major event where the client took 600 employees in three chartered planes for a one-day trip to Austria. It felt almost like a military operation where every detail was perfect; it was so special to see participants literally skipping through the snow.

What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time, I like to relax by doing jigsaw puzzles, going on trips, and enjoying food and drinks with family and friends. I also love to bake, and to stay in balance, I regularly go for runs across the heath and dive into the pool.

What energizes you in your work?

I get a lot of energy from the creative process: brainstorming new requests with colleagues and translating them into beautiful, fitting proposals. Sparring, developing ideas, and ultimately achieving the best result together gives me a fresh boost of energy every time.

What sparks your enthusiasm when collaborating with colleagues or clients?

In my collaboration with colleagues and clients, I am primarily driven by good teamwork and open communication. Building something beautiful together, strengthening each other, and working towards a successful end result is what I enjoy most.

Which project has stayed with you the most?

The Marques event is the one that stayed with me the most. It was a large-scale event with participants from various countries, and it was special to be part of it. It was extra rewarding to see all the happy faces in the end.

What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time, I love going to a Rocycle class with friends, ideally followed by a coffee in the sun on a terrace. It’s the perfect combination of staying active and socializing.

What drives you in your role at BARENTSZEN? What gives you energy?

I get a real buzz from creating concepts for meetings, incentive trips, and events where every detail is carefully considered. From the initial ideas to the final execution on-site, the most rewarding moment is seeing everything come together and watching people enjoy themselves, create lasting memories, and leave with a smile. That’s what makes my work so fulfilling.

What do you value most when working with colleagues and clients?

I love working towards something special as a team and giving it our all together. Open communication, short lines of communication, and a good sense of humour make all the difference to me. I believe the best results come from an environment where everyone can be themselves, support one another, and work together towards a shared goal. That positive energy is contagious, both within the team and in our relationships with clients.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

utside of work, I love spending time with my family. Whether we’re exploring new places or simply making memories together, that’s what I enjoy most. I’m also a passionate runner and regularly take on marathons. Running gives me energy and helps me clear my mind. And whenever the weather is good, you’ll usually find me firing up the barbecue and enjoying a relaxed evening with family and friends.

What energizes you in your work?

What drives me in my work is the feeling of the BARENTSZEN family. Being genuinely interested in one another and striving for quality together. I get energy from getting things done as a team, preferably with a smile.

What sparks your enthusiasm when collaborating with colleagues or clients?

I really light up when all the pieces of the puzzle suddenly fall into place after a brainstorm. When a vague idea takes shape and eventually grows into a plan and then reality. “I love it when a plan comes together.”

Which project has stayed with you the most?

A moment that has always stayed with me is an evening in the Swiss mountains. In the moonlight, we walked with a group from the lift station to a privatized mountain hut, while the sound of alphorns slowly grew louder. Months of preparation came together right there; it gave me goosebumps. A party evening in an atmospheric Icelandic farmhouse also stands out, with the beautiful Northern Lights as the icing on the cake.

What do you like to do in your free time?

Besides an active family life with two children, I enjoy listening to music and love staying busy with DIY projects and sports, such as tennis, running, and mountain biking.

What energizes you in your work?

I get energy from the variety in my work. Because I work for different brands, I can constantly come up with creative concepts that truly resonate with the target audience. It gives me great satisfaction to strengthen brand stories through small, thoughtful choices in imagery, copy, or tone of voice.

In my collaboration with colleagues and clients, I thrive on sparring and brainstorming together. Refining ideas and working towards a result that both the client and our team can be proud of gives me a real boost.

Which project made you feel: something special happened here?

The repositioning process of our brands is what stayed with me the most. We took a fresh look at who we are, why we do what we do, and how that is reflected in our communication. It involved a lot of work, which made it even more rewarding to see the results take shape and to see everyone become increasingly enthusiastic.

What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time, I enjoy photography, preferably in nature or while traveling.

What energizes you in your work?

I get a real energy boost from creating content around our brands and concepts. Conveying atmosphere and experience through visuals and storytelling, so that others can almost experience it for themselves, is the part of my job I enjoy most.

When collaborating with colleagues and clients, I get excited about sharing ideas, receiving feedback, and working together to achieve a stronger end result. Sometimes clients provide their own content, which allows us to truly work together on something beautiful.

Which project has stayed with you the most?

The repositioning of our brands is what has stuck with me the most. It is a challenge to align our content with the new corporate identity, but I find that creative process of brainstorming and planning incredibly interesting and educational.

What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time, I love attending events such as Feyenoord matches, concerts, and festivals. Seeking out experiences and atmosphere is something I enjoy immensely, both in my work and my personal life.

What drives me in my work at BARENTSZEN is my colleagues. We have a fantastic, diverse, and international team that brings out the best in each other. That collaboration and energy motivate me every single day.

Which project has stayed with you the most?

A project that has stayed with me is the Marques Event in The Hague. A fantastic project where the whole team was involved and where our collaboration truly shone.

What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time, I enjoy being creative, from embroidery to renovating and fixing up my house, and everything in between.

What drives you in your work? What gives you energy?

What drives me is building the company and creating value. At BARENTSZEN, many things come together: international projects, strategy, and people. I especially get energy from situations that seem complex, which we then manage to transform into a concrete result as a team.

What sparks your enthusiasm when collaborating with colleagues or clients?

For me, collaboration is about trust, openness, and ambition. I prefer working with people who take responsibility, show initiative, and want to build something together that is greater than individual interests. With clients, I find it important that we aren’t just a supplier, but a true partner. When we can take a project to the next level together and truly provide peace of mind for a client, it gives me great satisfaction.

Which ‘project’ has stayed with you the most? And why?

The projects that stay with me most, from my financial perspective, are usually those that seem almost impossible at first glance. For example, international events where logistics, timing, and expectations must align perfectly. When it all works out and everything clicks, it gives me an enormous boost of energy.

What do you like to do in your free time? OR What don’t we know about you yet?

In my spare time, I’m very involved in sports, even if you might not say so at first glance…. Boxing is a great way for me to clear my head and stay sharp. Additionally, I can often be found at the show jumping arenas, as my daughter is active in equestrian show jumping.

What gives you energy in your work?

What gives me the most energy in my work at BARENTSZEN is collaborating with our team. Creating beautiful projects together, strengthening one another, and seeing everyone grow in their roles. It is motivating to achieve something together that we are proud of, resulting in happy and satisfied clients who love to return to us.

What sparks your enthusiasm when collaborating with colleagues or clients?

In collaborations with colleagues and clients, I am especially energized by going that extra mile together. Working with a committed team toward the best result and seeing how ideas come together into a strong project gives me a lot of energy.

Which project has stayed with you the most?

A project that has stayed with me is a Christmas event for the entire RAI Amsterdam team, with about 650 colleagues. We flew together to Salzburg to visit the Christmas market and then traveled on to Leogang for various snow activities. To top it off, we organized a large après-ski party. It was an impressive logistical project where everything came together, and a wonderful example of what a close-knit team can achieve together.

What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time, I enjoy working out, watching good movies, and enjoying great food with friends and family. My guilty pleasure is binge-watching exciting series; if a series is really good, I find it hard to stop watching.
