The reason: investing in the team
For Broersma Werken en Wonen, the annual staff trip is an important moment to step away from daily operations. The goal was clear: to get to know each other better, have fun together, and strengthen mutual bonds. Outside the familiar work environment, space is created for new conversations, different dynamics, and fresh energy—exactly what the team needed.
From team goal to program
To ensure the program truly resonated with the team, we started with several office visits. Not just to ‘check off’ the program, but to properly understand the culture, interpersonal relationships, and wishes. These insights formed the basis for a program where teambuilding, competition, relaxation, and experience reinforced one another.
The result was a thoughtfully designed staff trip where every activity contributed to the common goal: experiencing and connecting together.
The program: discovering, connecting, and enjoying in Lille
Day 1 – Arrival & introductions
The team departed by bus for Lille, where a festive welcome toast and communal lunch followed upon arrival at the hotel. Broersma consciously chose shared transport by coach instead of traveling in separate cars.
In the afternoon, colleagues explored the city during an e-bike tour with the theme ‘connais ton collègue’. In a playful way, colleagues got to know each other better while Lille showed off its most beautiful side. The afternoon concluded with an awards ceremony where competition and fun came together.
After some free time to freshen up, a special welcome dinner was scheduled for the evening at a rooftop restaurant. With champagne on the rooftop and views over the city, it was the perfect moment to kick off the weekend together.
Day 2 – Culture, competition, and culinary delights
The second day began at a relaxed pace, with time to explore Lille during the European Heritage Days and free time in the city. A wonderful moment to soak up some culture and discover the city at one’s own pace.
Around lunchtime, the team gathered again for a private lunch at an iconic spot in Lille famous for its waffles. In the afternoon, a 2CV rally and scavenger hunt featuring local specialties provided an energetic mix of collaboration, competition, and plenty of fun. Teams were challenged, boundaries were pushed, and successes were celebrated during the closing awards ceremony.
The day was concluded in style with a private dinner, where culinary refinement and a relaxed atmosphere provided a fitting end to the day.
Day 3 – Heading home
After a final shared breakfast, it was time to say goodbye to Lille. During the bus journey back to Amsterdam, everyone chatted about the weekend, shared photos, and looked back on the many beautiful moments experienced together. A weekend that would resonate for a long time to come.
The result: a closer and more energetic team
The staff trip delivered exactly what Broersma Werken en Wonen had envisioned. The team looked back on a weekend full of energy, connection, and fun. By exploring, laughing, and being challenged together, new memories were created along with a stronger mutual bond. Lille was experienced as a surprisingly versatile city, where culture, activities, and culinary enjoyment come together perfectly.
During the trip, we took care of all logistics, organization, and guidance. Solution-oriented, flexible, and above all: visibly invisible. This allowed the team to focus entirely on each other and the experience.
“From the very first introductory meeting, our wishes for the ideal office weekend were truly listened to. Djuna and Frederiek completely took the weight off our shoulders and ensured the program perfectly matched our company and team. Thanks to the entire BARENTSZEN team for the fantastic organization and this unforgettable weekend.”
