Following previous hybrid editions during the pandemic, this edition was fully live, allowing participants to meet in person once again. The program took place across multiple locations in and around The Hague, including the World Forum, Madurodam, and De Broodfabriek.
Relive the highlights! Thanks to WirtzFilm for this beautiful aftermovie of the MARQUES Annual Conference.
The occasion: sharing knowledge within the international trademark world
The MARQUES Annual Conference is an annual gathering for professionals in the field of trademark law and intellectual property.
The goal of the conference is to:
- discuss current developments within the field
- share knowledge and expertise
- strengthen international contacts
- create space for meetings and exchange between participants
With participants from various countries, the conference serves as an important platform for the international trademark community.
Our role: the engine behind an international conference
For a conference with 900 international participants and multiple locations, tight organization is essential. Our team was responsible for the full logistical execution and management of the event.
A dedicated project manager led the project, supported by several colleagues who were each responsible for different parts of the program. During the conference itself, multiple team members were visibly present to guide participants and the organization.
Our activities included:
- preparation and setup of conference venues
- coordination of registration desks and participant flows
- alignment with AV partners and suppliers
- logistical planning of hotels, transfers, and locations
- program management according to a detailed script
By reviewing the script together every day and closely monitoring the program, the conference ran smoothly and according to plan.
The program: four days of knowledge and international connection
Day 1 – Arrival and start of the conference
Participants arrived in The Hague throughout the day and checked into four different hotels. A shuttle service was organized for a hotel located further from the World Forum.
At the World Forum, participants could register at the conference desks, after which the first meetings and team sessions took place. Our team checked all meeting rooms, lunches, and coffee breaks in advance so everything could start on schedule.
The day concluded with a First Timers reception, followed by a jazz-themed welcome reception featuring a DJ and saxophonist.
Day 2 – Plenary sessions and Dutch culture at Madurodam
The second day started with the spectacular opening of the conference in the plenary hall of the World Forum. Various plenary sessions took place throughout the day, along with a communal buffet lunch.
In the evening, buses departed from the hotels to Madurodam, which had been exclusively rented for the participants. Among the miniatures of the Netherlands, guests could explore the park while tasting typical Dutch delicacies at various food and drink stations, such as herring, stroopwafels, and poffertjes.
Day 3 – Workshops, excursions, and gala dinner
The third day began with a corporate breakfast and a plenary session. In the afternoon, participants could choose from various workshops and excursions, including:
- a visit to Royal Delft
- the Mauritshuis
- Escher in The Palace
- a cycling or walking tour of The Hague
The day concluded with a festive gala dinner. In a hall with 90 set tables, participants enjoyed dinner in a typically Dutch setting. After dinner, the Hermes House Band provided an energetic conclusion to the evening.
Day 4 – Closing of the conference
The final day focused on the closing plenary session and a communal lunch. Afterward, participants departed for home following four days full of content, meetings, and international exchange.
The result: knowledge sharing and international connections
The MARQUES Annual Conference once again brought professionals from the international trademark world together for in-depth content and personal contact.
After the previous hybrid editions, participants particularly appreciated being able to meet face-to-face again. The conference provided space for knowledge sharing, discussions, and strengthening international relationships within the field.
Experiencing special moments together
International gatherings offer organizations the chance to bring professionals from different countries together around knowledge, developments, and collaboration. By carefully aligning content, interaction, and environment, a program is created where participants not only learn but also build valuable relationships.
