ANNIVERSARY EVENTS & TRAVEL
Organizing an anniversary trip or anniversary event? Let your milestone set something in motion.
FROM ANNIVERSARY TO LASTING CONNECTION
An anniversary is an opportunity to bring your people closer together and give direction to what the future holds.
Your organization has existed for 10, 25, or perhaps even 50 years. A wonderful moment to reflect on what has been built and the people who made it possible. But what do you want this anniversary to leave behind? A good memory? Or a moment that changes how people look at their work, each other, and what you are going to build together next?
WHEN AN ANNIVERSARY IS JUST A NICE MOMENT VS. WHEN YOU CREATE IMPACT
When celebrating an anniversary, most people have an expectation: a beautiful location, a good story from the stage, an evening that runs smoothly.
Yet it can be more than that. You can anchor it to who you are by taking people on an experience and into your story. That way, people will be saying for years to come that it wasn't 'just a nice time,' but you'll hear them say: "I was there!"
But how do you get there? That is exactly the question most organizations ask themselves when the venue is already booked and the program is already half-filled.
The BARENTSZEN team takes a different approach.
MAKE CELEBRATING YOUR COMPANY ANNIVERSARY A STRATEGIC STARTING POINT
Form always follows intention
Sometimes that's a trip, sometimes an event. Sometimes both. Don't start with a location or theme, but with your organization. Who are your people? What makes you unique? And what do you want people to remember from the experience? Those answers determine the form. We help you make the right choice.
The story you tell
An anniversary is a rare opportunity to define who you are, not just internally, but also to clients and partners. That story deserves more than a speech. It deserves an experience that makes it tangible.
Customization that feels like you
An anniversary celebration that feels forced is counterproductive. We translate your culture, core values, and history into a concept that fits only you. This could be a timeline telling real employee stories, a location that says something about who you are, or a program element that directly references how the company began. Not a ready-made program, but something people recognize as: this is us.
From preparation to aftercare
The anniversary itself is the centerpiece, but not the endpoint. We help you think about how to build the lead-up. Think of a countdown, a teaser, or a moment where employees contribute to the program themselves. We ensure the moment lands with maximum impact during the event itself. And afterwards, we look together at how to maintain the energy: a memento people take home, a photo report, or an internal follow-up that builds on what was created that day.

types of clients we work for:
WHAT YOU SEE AFTER THE TRIP OR EVENT
It might sound strange, but the effect of celebrating an anniversary isn't in the moment itself. It's in how people look at your organization, get inspired, and then approach things differently.
Employees who feel seen and later reflect that in how they work
Teams that get to know each other in a new way and therefore collaborate more easily
Clients and partners who feel part of your story
A shared experience that is retold for years
Not just looking back, but providing direction for the future
WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY
From the very first meeting through to the final wrap-up of the trip, communication with BARENTSZEN was clear and professional. We received not only great tips about the destination (hotel/restaurants/experiences) but also excellent advice on the structure and logic of the program. During the trip, the local guides hired by BARENTSZEN and our tour leader Jiska’s sharp eye for detail made all the difference. She managed to guide our group of 26 people smoothly and graciously, allowing us to focus entirely on the experience. The result: an inspiring, unique, and connecting study trip where everything was safely and superbly organized.
The best moment? When you notice the energy flowing, without having to push.
From the very first introductory meeting, they truly listened to our wishes for the ideal office weekend. Djuna and Frederiek took care of every detail, ensuring the program perfectly aligned with our company and team. Our thanks to Djuna, Frederiek, and the entire team for the fantastic organization and this unforgettable weekend. We hope to work together again in the future!
Our company trip to Berlin was a success, thanks in part to the professional guidance of BARENTSZEN. They have excellent local connections and responsive, friendly, and knowledgeable staff.
For the anniversary trip to Reims, we worked closely with BARENTSZEN to create a memorable journey that would bring all colleagues closer together. Thanks to their creative and seamless organization, it became exactly the kind of trip people will be talking about for years to come.
Such an eye for detail, such a high level of flexibility and customer focus, and such a tight internal organization are things we rarely experience from suppliers. We would therefore like to wholeheartedly recommend Barentszen to any organization that wants to make their group trip a resounding success.
OUR TEAM STANDS BEHIND YOUR ANNIVERSARY
Organizing an anniversary that truly fits you requires people who look beyond programs and destinations. Our team starts by understanding who you are before a single idea is put on the table. This results in an anniversary that doesn't feel like a well-organized event, but like a moment that belongs only to you.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE BEST WAY TO CELEBRATE AN ANNIVERSARY
How do you ensure an anniversary event or trip fits who we really are?
By involving the BARENTSZEN team, because we don’t start with suggestions for a location or theme. We first want to know the values your organization carries. What makes you different from others in your market? And how does that feel from the inside for the people who are there every day? Those answers determine the concept. This creates an anniversary that people recognize as authentic and not as something that could have fit another company.
When do you choose an anniversary trip and when an anniversary event?
That depends on who you want to reach. An anniversary trip works best for a select group of employees or relations you want to touch and connect with personally. An anniversary event is more powerful if you want to take a larger audience along in your story or if visibility is also a goal. Sometimes the combination is most powerful: a trip for the core, an event for the wider circle.
What makes an anniversary trip different from a regular staff trip?
The intention. A staff trip is primarily focused on relaxation and being together. That is very valuable, but the goal is fun. An anniversary trip has a conscious layer: marking a milestone, deepening connection, and looking ahead to what’s coming. We deliberately design a program for that. This makes the effect fundamentally different, even if the destination were the same.
During an anniversary celebration, do you mainly tell where you come from or where you want to go?
Both are very appropriate, but the ratio determines the tone of the anniversary. Looking back provides recognition. Looking forward provides energy. The most powerful anniversaries do both: they honor the past and set the course for the future. That is also the difference between a party and a turning point.
How do you ensure an anniversary doesn't stop after the last toast?
By thinking about that in advance. What happens on the day itself is the beginning. Whether it sticks depends on what comes after. What are the conversations and meetings about that are planned after the event or trip? Is there follow-up on the themes that were touched upon? Think of a short film that captures the essence of the anniversary, or a follow-up moment where teams build further on what was created. We actively think along, so the anniversary is a starting point, not a closing.
STILL UNDECIDED ABOUT AN ANNIVERSARY TRIP OR AN ANNIVERSARY EVENT?
You don't have to know exactly how you want to celebrate your anniversary yet. Sometimes it helps to sharpen together what this moment can mean for you, without a program immediately being on the table.
